“As the father goes, so goes the family…”
For more than a quarter-century, Aubrey LeGrier has sought to serve, support, and strengthen fathers, father figures, and future fathers through a variety of vehicles and a multitude of methods. As the 3rd of four (proud!) sons to a “real dad,” one of my life’s missions is to potentiate and perpetuate positive family development practices, starting with acknowledging and accentuating the unique and powerful “relationships, roles, responsibilities and rewards” realized by dads in family and community life.
As a father figure, mentor, counselor, teacher, social services professional, (co-)founder of several community/faith-based organizations, pastor, and respected “servant-leader” within the responsible fatherhood movement in the greater NYC metro area and beyond, my commitment to affirming the essentiality of effective fathering is unwavering. I’ve experienced and witnessed the “very best and worst” of what happens in a child’s/family’s life when fathers/men don’t assume their rightful place in society. Serving with RDN grants me an even greater opportunity to work with a multiplicity of fathers while intentionally recognizing and “replicating” those dads who are actually “in the arena, striving valiantly” every day, with little to no acknowledgment or acclaim. They are true heroes, indeed!
With a passion for “perfecting people,” as well as himself, Aubrey supports RDN by seeking out and strengthening ties with strategic partners and allies in an effort to ensure our “real dads” are recognized and respected, all while pursuing the best life outcomes for children and families…” one dad at a time.”
