We started the Real Dads Club (RDC) because we noticed that there wasn’t a place for Fathers (Men) to go and get support, resources, and feel as though they were in a safe space. We meet on Thursday at 7:00 p.m. (virtually).
Our first Real Dads Club meeting was January of 2010 and was in person at Eagle Academy in the Bronx. We met in person once a month until Covid hit us. At which point, we started meeting online. We have been meeting weekly virtually since April of 2020…we are dedicated and have not missed a week!
The Real Dads Club is an opportunity for fathers to support, encourage, and learn from other fathers and develop more effective strategies for parenting.
Participants embrace their role as parents and understand their responsibility to raise healthy and strong children with skills to lead productive lives and relationships. Interactive meetings will include discussions, expert presentations, dialogs with Life Coaches, fatherhood problem-solving strategies, conversations with Everyday Heroes, and locating other fatherhood resources.
Our RDC has gone internationally as we have members in Africa and England and we are in the process of starting a Real Dads Club in these areas.
Attend, participate, and discover ways to strengthen the Real Dad in you!
